Submissions are being accepted through June 3 and will be accepted in the following thematic areas: Improving Health Care Quality; Making Health Care Safer; Increasing Accessibility to Health Care; Improving Health Care Affordability\, Efficiency\, and Cost Transparency; Racial Ethnic Disparities; Research on Dissemination and Implementation Science. SUMMARY:Better Health Care: How do we learn about improvement?
DESCRIPTION:Abstract\n\nAchieving the best health care outcomes is constrained by systems’ ability to reliably deliver evidence-based care\, every time\, to the people who need it. Systems include not only the design of care models and care delivery processes\, but also supporting structures and the human interactions in between. These human interactions at every level put improving healthcare squarely in the arena of complex\, adaptive systems. \nThe field of improvement has evolved to address the complex\, systemic nature of health care challenges\, particularly through the use of adaptive\, iterative testing and implementation of changes which empower teams to use data in real-time to test changes which address systems issues and lead to improved outcomes. These teams engage all the key stakeholders involved in the outcome of interest\, and can include various cadres of healthcare workers as well as patients\, families and communities. For several decades the application of modern improvement methods has evolved from working to improve simple processes in facilities\, for example to reduce waiting times\, to clinical improvements like reducing the incidence of hospital acquired infections\, to more significant improvements in healthcare\, like decreases in mortality\, and achieving such results at scale.

DESCRIPTION:9º Jornadas regionales de calidad asistencial y seguridad del paciente \n4 y 5 Agosto del 2016 Antofagasta \nUna vez más nos damos cita en el norte de nuestro país para re-editar esa tremenda oportunidad de crecer juntos\, aprender de los mejores\, compartir experiencias y generar redes de conocimiento y apoyo a nuestro trabajo en pro de la Calidad y Seguridad de los pacientes. Ese ha sido el objetivo que nos hemos propuesto como Sociedad en las 9as Jornadas Regionales de Calidad y Seguridad Asistencial\, a realizarse los próximos 4 y 5 de Agosto de 2016. \nEl lugar de reunión es Antofagasta\, tierra desértica y de gran riqueza: la riqueza de su gente y del esfuerzo que aquí se forja día a día. Tierra que también mira hacia el mar\, buscando siempre un nuevo horizonte: aquél marcado por la mejora contínua. \nEs a esta ciudad a la que te invitamos\, para actualizar nuestro conocimiento en materia de política pública de Calidad; a sorprendernos con los esfuerzos tanto del sector público como privado e institucional\, orientados a crear y mantener una cultura organizacional ligada a la Seguridad Asistencial; a entender cómo podemos aprender mejor de los errores y eventos adversos\, y cómo cultivar la humanización en el trato al paciente en un país en donde la expresión ciudadana irrumpe con fuerza para expresar sus derechos exigibles.

DESCRIPTION:ISQua is delighted to collaborate with the Japan Council for Quality Health Care (JQ) to host our 33rd International scientific meeting on quality and safety in health care in Tokyo\, Japan 16 – 19 October 2016. ISQua aims to promote and support continuous improvement in the quality and safety of health care worldwide. Japan\, with the world’s longest life expectancy\, has a well-earned International reputation for high standards in medicine and medical education. \nThe World Health Organisation have recently published the next stage of the Millennium Goals\, which have merged into Sustainable Development Goals\, of which there are 17. Goal 3 is health and one of its aims is to “Achieve universal health coverage\, including financial risk protection\, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe\, effective\, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all”. To achieve this by 2030\, health services will have to change the way we do things. \nISQua’s theme «Change and Sustainability in Healthcare Quality: the Future Challenges’” for the 33rd International conference addresses this challenge.
